Twitter users, including Elon Musk and Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., chided President Joe Biden on the social media platform on Friday for yet another gaffe by the world leader.

On Friday, Biden signed an executive order to provide limited protections to women seeking abortions in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court on June 24.

Flanked by Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, Biden addressed the country and the press to explain his order, as well as to express his commitment to protecting women’s right to freedom. ‘abortion.

During the speech, however, Biden appeared to ignore what and what not to read aloud on the teleprompter. In a moment that many Twitter users found hilarious, Biden read a quote from the teleprompter and then read what appeared to be stage instructions. He said: “It should be noted that the percentage of women who have registered to vote and vote is consistently higher than the percentage of men who do. End quote.”

He then read the next set of instructions aloud. “Repeat the line,” Biden said, before reciting the quote again and moving on to the next part of the address as if nothing had happened.

Washington Times columnist Tim Young mocked the president, tweeting, “Biden is so gone he will literally read whatever is put on the teleprompter in front of him. ‘End quote’… ‘Repeat it line.'”
