We pay up to $50 an hour
Edit for creators
Creators often need help editing their content, and businesses need help editing blog posts, social media posts, newsletters, and other communications to grow their customer base.
This sideways hustle is especially great “for people who don’t want to build giant brands and a whole social media presence on their own,” says sideways hustle expert Daniella Flores. They are just interested in landing jobs in the field.
Find editing jobs on sites like Scribendi, Wordvice, and freelancer.com. Payment can vary depending on the size of the project and the expertise required, but gigs on Scribendi cost between $5 and $50 per hour, according to Sidehusl.com.
Write for creators
As more creators build brands around their voice, many find they need help writing content. The demand for this kind of help is “increasing every day,” says Flores, “not just with blogs, podcasts, and YouTube, but now with creators who only exist on social media.”
This help may include writing scripts for videos or writing captions for videos. One gig that Flores has seen appear is as a podcast notes writer. Podcast show notes are the description of the episode that might appear on its iTunes page or on a website where the show is embedded.
“You do transcription at the same time as writing,” explains Flores. “Perhaps a summary of the episode”, plus anything the creator might want to add.
Join Facebook writing groups to see if they post this type of work, sign up to find writing gigs on sites like WriterAccess, or create a profile on sites like Fiverr offering your services. Podcast note writers charge anywhere from $5 to $120 on Fiverr.
